Seoul Metropolitan City is changing. Due to climate change associated with increasing heat waves and precipitation quantities, the city's water environment is changing drastically.

서울시는 변화하고 있습니다. 최근 폭염, 강수량 증가 등 기후변화에 따른 도시의 물환경이 급격하게 변화하고 있습니다.

Over the past 10 years, the annual temperature has increased by zero point five Celsius and summer precipitation has increased by more than 7%.

지난 10년간 연평균 기온이 0.5°c 증가하였으며 여름철강수량 역시 약 7%이상이 증가하였습니다.

Changes in a city's water environment result in river pollution, dried-up streams, energy shortage, droughts, and urban flooding, impacting citizens' lives in a significant way.

도시 물환경 변화는 하천오염, 건천화, 에너지 부족, 가뭄, 도시 수해 등 다양한 형태로 시민생활에 영향을 미치고 있습니다.

According to the OECD's 2015 evaluation of citizens' quality of life and satisfaction level about their living environment, including the water quality, Korea ranked 30th among 36 countries in terms of people's satisfaction.

In 2030, the proportion of Seoul citizens 65 years or older is estimated to be 22.9%, and the proportion of households of one or two persons is likely to rise to 61.1%, with Seoul City becoming a super fast aging society with an increasing proportion of mini households as its new normal.
