The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) appointed new honorary ambassadors on Thu, Feb. 16 at the Multipurpose Hall (8F) of City Hall and Mayor Oh Se-hoon presented plaques of appreciation to those who have taken the lead in promoting Seoul’s municipal administration.
Prior to the appointment ceremony, Mayor Oh Se-hoon presented plaques of appreciation to those who have served as Seoul’s honorary ambassadors—actor Choi Bool-am, animation characters Pinkfong and Baby Shark, actress Park Jin-hee, make-up artist Jung Saem-mool, painter Kim Hyun-jung, TV personalities Alberto Mondi and Jasson, and rapper Lee Young-ji—with attendance by Choi, Jung, Kim, Pinkfong and Baby Shark.
The city newly appointed its honorary ambassadors in two years, bestowing the honors to celebrities who are active in various fields, such as broadcasting, society, architecture, culture, and art—actors Roh Joo-hyun and Kil Yong-woo, TV personality Sean, comedian Kim Yong-myeong, announcers Oh Sang-jin and Kim So-young, singer Lee Seok-hoon, YouTubers Shuka World and YangBro (Yang Jae-jin and Yang Jae-woong), influencer and TikToker On Oppa, and girl group NewJeans.
With a two-year term of service, the honorary ambassadors will receive an appointment plaque from Mayor Oh Se-hoon on the day of their appointment and begin their public relations activities.
