Newly renovated Namsan Information Center for visitors’ convenience
The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has announced the official reopening of Namsan Information Center after renovation for the convenience of visitors to Namsan Mountain, a representative tourist attraction and landmark of Seoul that offers a stunning panoramic bird’s eye view of downtown ensconced in nature.
During the renovation, the city used the space in front of the Namsan Park bus stop (Namsan Seoul Tower shuttle bus #01) as a temporary information center.
Now, after an official redesign by the city, the Namsan Information Center has reopened to welcome visitors for all ages. Visitors can conveniently receive information on not just Namsan Mountain, such as a tourist guide map of Namsan Park, but also on general tourist information for sightseeing Seoul.
Families can even enjoy the lounge area to rest during their visit, and there are also amenities such as nursing rooms for infants and toddlers as well as AED defibrillators in case of emergency.
As an accessible facility, a wheelchair ramp installed for the convenience of persons with disabilities and children in strollers. Also, wheelchair and stroller rentals are available at the information center for those in need.
The Namsan Information Center is open every day from 10 AM to 6 PM except Mondays for environmental maintenance.
The information center is operated mainly by citizen volunteers who can provide necessary assistance. Moreover, the city recruited and assigned additional volunteers who can communicate in foreign languages, such as English and Chinese, in line with post-pandemic tourism following the rise in the number of international tourists on top of domestic visitors.
