• Seoul recognized at the 2023 Trip.com Global Partner Summit on Tue, Oct. 24
• Visible increase as a global travel destination after winning the “Best Leisure Destination in Asia” award

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) announced that it gained global recognition at the 2023 Trip.com Global Partner Summit, held in Singapore on Tue, Oct. 24, winning the Most Popular Destination of the Year award. At the same time, the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) also received the Best Overseas Partner award along with 29 other overseas partners following a review process by Trip.com.

Following the city’s recognition as the Best Leisure Destination in Asia at the 11th annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards hosted by global tourism magazine Global Traveler, this year’s recognition as the Most Popular Destination of the Year once again firmly demonstrated international tourists’ interest in Seoul as a tourist destination.

Such global interest in Seoul can also be seen in the rapid increase in the number of international tourists that have visited Seoul this year. As of the end of August, the number of tourists who visited Seoul stood at 5.4 million, representing a staggering 373.6% increase over the previous year’s figure over the same period at 1.14 million.
