The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is opening a regional public service center of Seoul Immigration Office on the first floor of Southwest Seoul Global Center (40, Dosin-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul) on Sun, May 22 in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Yeongdeungpo-gu Office.

The center will handle immigration-related affairs and provide convenient services, such as extension of visa and change of residence/visa (e.g. H2, F4), to foreign nationals living in southwestern districts of Seoul. Visitors can file reports, apply for documents, and request limited assistance for matters handled by MOJ’s Seoul Immigration Office. Currently, pre-registrations are accepted online (hikorea.go.kr) prior to the grand opening.

Moreover, foreign nationals who are not proficient in Korean can receive assistance with the help of interpreters and translators. Southwest Seoul Global Center plans to provide comprehensive support with convenient one-stop services to foreign nationals through educational and cultural programs (e.g. Korean language, computer literacy) on top of immigration services.

Southwest Seoul Global Center provides a wide variety of services to assist foreign nationals residing in Seoul, including general consultation in ten languages (i.e. Korean, Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Urdu, Russian, Nepali, Mongolian, Uzbek, Filipino) and professional consultation (i.e. law, labor) as well as Korean language classes, media education, and community support.
