Seoul and Google Join Hands to Educate 6,000 Aspiring AI Entrepreneurs to Enhance AI Utilization Skills
- The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) plans to foster next-generation startup leaders in the AI field, with over 1,000 applications for all 6 sessions
The SMG and Google kicked off their first class of the “AI Startup School with Seoul” on Tue, Mar. 5. This joint effort between Seoul and Google aims to nurture budding entrepreneurs in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is deemed a pivotal industry for the future. Globally, it marks the first collaboration on a city scale to provide education in partnership with Google.
A total of 6,000 participants are joining the education program, which runs once a week for six weeks. Anyone interested in AI, including university students and prospective or early-stage entrepreneurs, can participate, and the entire program is offered free of charge.
○ The “AI Startup School with Seoul” will run from Mar. 5 to Apr. 9 for six weeks, with sessions held every Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Snowflake Square Hall of Sookmyung Women’s University.
Mayor Oh Se-hoon stated that the city government is already integrating AI technology in various fields, such as AI care robots to prevent lonely deaths of the elderly living alone and AI-based intelligent crowd monitoring CCTV. He expressed his support for participants to grow into future resources leading the nation by adding the “spirit of entrepreneurship” of challenge and growth to their AI utilization and technology skills.
