National Policy: Housing Policy
Housing policy is Cambodia National Policy which was approved by the Council of Minister on May 09, 2014. The purpose of this housing policy provide people in general, especially low and medium income households and vulnerable groups with access to adequate housing or to improvement of their housing to ensure the right to adequate housing. This policy also provide resolutions to households who temporarily live in an informal settlement to have access to an adequate, safe, and comfortable housing for living and /or running businesses. It accelerates collaboration with development partners, civil societies, charities and private sectors to establish nation and sub-national housing programs for short-, medium-, and long-term.
The National Housing Policy is to enable people throughout the country have adequate housing to reside in with welfare, safety, and dignity, especially for citizens who earned low and medium income and vulnerable groups. This is a part of the implementation of the political platform of the Royal Government of Cambodia of the 5th legislature of the National Assembly, which state that “…developing a national housing policy to provide housing for the poor so that they can live in safe, good and dignified conditions…”.
