  • Size: 4 floors above ground and 2 floors underground
  • ( 2,486 square meters site, construction area of ​​5,715 square meters )
  • Organization : Seoul Museum of History

Purpose

  • The permanent exhibition of Cheonggyechon in a professional museum to display the history, culture, environment, and areas of Cheonggyechon

  • Themes include a journey through historic Cheonggyecheon, Cheonggyecheon Cultural Museum, Qing Cheonggyecheon through its past present and proposed future projects, and special exhibitions of various themes through educational and cultural events

  • Its installation is to be operated as a complex cultural space representative

Facilities

Permanent exhibition room (4 ~ 2F)

  • An exhibition to display to day from the Joseon Dynasty, the process since the beginning of the Cheonggyecheon restoration project and its historic journey, and a vision of the future state of the city

  • Features of the building include a the viewable design flow from the 4th floor all the way down to the 2nd floor accessible through outside escalators
     

Permanent exhibition room _ Eco Cheonggyecheon (2F)

  • A space to vividly experience the friends of nature that have returned to the environment upon the restoration of Cheonggyecheon

Auditorium ( 3rd floor )

  • An 87-seat theater hall to showcase orientation videos, performances, and lectures

Effects

The establishment of The Cheonggyecheon Academy, for professional associates and general domestic interest, to further understand the restoration business and operation.  Another benchmark set by the restoration project was setting goals to understand the relationship between Cheonggyecheon and the life of its citizens by presenting a development scheme for the city and a balanced vision of Seoul as a nature-friendly city.
