Seoul–Moscow Online Conference in Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Sisterhood Relationship

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) will hold an online Seoul–Moscow conference in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship between the two cities. The two cities will have a meaningful time sharing the city visions and policies in the post-pandemic era.After the establishment of the sister tie on July 13, 1991, Seoul and Moscow have exchanged in diverse fields, including response to climate change, improvement of air quality, public transportation, e-government, smart city, culture and arts, and tourism, and high-level delegation including the mayors have continue to visit the respective cities.
Despite the situation in which the face-to-face exchanges are hampered due to COVID-19, the two cities have continued in major fields, such as economy and tourism, through online meetings. This time, the conference will be held live via online conferencing between the two cities to seek “the role of a city in the post-pandemic era” and “solutions to urban issues” together.
In the conference, the current policies and cases in the fields of “smart city” and “transportation,” where both cities are achieving excellent results, will be shared and an in-depth discussion will follow.

Starting with this conference, the SMG will hold various celebratory events, such as “Seoul-Moscow Two Cities Art Trip” and “ROK-Russia Online Film Festival” in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the sister ties and for vitalization of the exchanges between two cities.
